about me

I was 15 when I first stepped into a gym, and it’s been a constant throughout the rest of my life. I found passion in challenging and improving myself, and then one day, when training a friend, I found a passion in helping others along too.

I went from a chubby lad to a skinny boy, having low self-esteem and regularly putting myself through harrowing workouts and long runs, only to then give up on it all and start again weeks later. Once I started committing to a longer-term plan, I started to make the real changes I wanted to see.

I started by training up my group of friends - some for strength, some for apperance, and some for sports - learning a huge amount through sheer trial and error, putting them through all sorts of trials and tribulations in the gym.

When I realised that wasn’t enough, I started to improve my actual knowledge of training - first with my own readings, starting on old textbooks and then scouring the internet to learn more and more, aiming to perfect each training program and sharpen up my approach to coaching.

At 20, I qualified as a personal trainer, but I’m glad I had a lot of prior experience. I’ve been to seminars and lectures with athletes and leading coaches, including the strength & conditioning coach of the Harlequins, as well as Britan’s Strongest Man, Adam Bishop, and further developed my coaching by becoming a certified strongman coach, in a course led by three-time UK’s Strongest Man, Paul Smith.

Alongside this, I am a certified Strength and Conditioning coach, drawing from that knowledge to create training plans for all levels, even complete beginners, that will make them not only stronger, but fitter and healthier in their daily life.

As for my own training, I have competed multiple times in strongman, and it’s what most of my own training consists of. I picked up rugby in the last year, playing as a loosehead prop (the best position), and am slowly drifting my own training to make me a better all-rounded athlete.

Outside of training, I live a very happy life. My wife and two cats keep my busy, and I enjoy any sorts of recreational sports, eating lots of food, and drinking a fair bit of Guinness. Camping, hiking and wild swimming are my go-to activities, although that is hampered by the fact I don’t drive - but have a good network of close friends who do - thanks guys!
